2010 Track Season
It's almost time for the 2010 Waukesha Catholic track & field season to begin. Our first practice is on Tuesday, April 6th. The first meet is Saturday, April 17th when Waukesha Catholic hosts the Waukesha Catholic Indoor Track Meet at Waukesha South High School. [PLEASE NOTE THE RECENT SCHEDULING CHANGE SWITCHING THE DATES OF THE WAUKESHA CATHOLIC INDOOR AND THE PIUS XI 8TH GRADE INDOOR.] This year our athletes have the opportunity to compete in nine different meets, as we have added the St. Matthias UWM Indoor Meet for the 5th through 7th graders while the 8th graders are competing at the Pius XI 8th Grade Indoor Track Championship. It promises to be an exciting and - with your help - a successful season.
An overview of the 2010 season is available below. We are always looking for parents willing to help with coaching or to act as team parents. If you can help, please contact Jim Mathie at (262) 521-1567. (We can always use additional help at any grade level. Please consider coaching track. It is a unique and rewarding coaching experience.)
Attached to the overview you will find a meet availability sheet. As in past years we ask that you complete and return the meet availability sheet so that the coaches may schedule your athlete(s) for the appropriate meets and events. Please make sure to include an e-mail address. We will again be using e-mail and this web site as our primary means of communication.

Waukesha Catholic Indoor Track Meet
The track season gets rolling with the Waukesha Catholic Indoor Track Meet on Saturday, April 17th at Waukesha South High School.
This "practice meet" allows young athletes to experience how a track meet runs. Unlike most meets, the older athletes run first, allowing the younger athletes to see their events before participating.
This meet also features the "All-Grade Relay" an eight-member relay with one member from each grade and gender. The race starts with a fifth grade girl, then fifth grade boy, then sixth grade girl and so on until concluding with an eighth grade boy runner. It is a truly exciting event! The highlight of last year's meet was the Waukesha Catholic All-Grade Relay Team bringing home the championship trophy for the first time in a number of years. Come out and see if we can hold onto it.!
Meet information and a schedule of events is available below.

New school records were set in the boys and gilrs 55 meter dash (Mitchell Krismer and Nicole Piette) and in the girls 4-lap relay (Madeline Davis, Nicole Piette, Amanda Jacka and Madeline Jelacic). It was a great effort by all who participated! Results are available below.

The St. Leonard Relay Meet scheduled for Saturday, May 1st, gives athletes an opportunity to participate in a wide range of relay events - even with field events. Typically, kids enjoy relays more than other events, so this meet, completely made up of relay events, is always fun.

St. Dominic Invitational Meet
On May 7th and 8th we travel to Brookfield East High School for our first big invitational of the year, The St. Dominic Invitational. The signature event for this meet is the Coaches' Relay. Traditionally run as the first event on Saturday morning, it makes the coaches put their legs where their mouth is. The kids love to watch their coaches run. You should come and see it too!
Results from the meet are available below. The coaches relay team of Brian Ammerman, Mike Hoge, Tom Jackson and John Mathie brought home the "Fleet Old Foot" traveling trophy for Waukesha Catholic again this year.

Holy Apostles Invitational
On May 14th and 15th we have our second big invitational, The Holy Apostles Invite at Catholic Memorial High School. This time the signature event is the "Cross Country Mile" that is run through the neighborhood. Athletes run from the stadium, up through the St. Mary's parking lot, out around part of the block and then back into the stadium. It's a great event that actually gets kids begging to run the mile. Come and see it.
Entries by athlete and event are available below. Please remember to check whether you are entered in the cross country mile. Entries for that event are contained in a separate file also available below.

Catholic Memorial Greater Waukesha Track Championship
Waukesha Catholic has repeated as overall champion of the 2010 Catholic Memorial High School Greater Waukesha Track Championship! The team was led by the sixth grade boys and seventh grade boys and girls, all of whom won their divisions. But the championship could not have been won without the help of each and every Waukesha Catholic athlete. Of the approximately 3120 total points that could be scored in all events, Waukesha Catholic beat St. John Vianney by only five points. The results by division and by school are available below. Results for only Waukesha Catholic athletes are also available.
